Nine of Spades as a Birth Card

People of this card are deep and wise beyond their years. They know what loss is and how to live on, which is why they can support others in hard moments. Many of them devote themselves to service.

Their lesson is letting go with trust. The Nine of Spades understands that the end of one stage is the start of the next, and that knowledge makes it strong.

• Letting go. You don't cling to what has run its course.
• Spiritual depth. You understand important things about life.
• Compassion. You support those going through loss.
• The power of renewal. After every ending you begin again.

Experience of endings can make a person anxious: they expect every good thing to end and won't let themselves enjoy it.

Sometimes the Nine of Spades lets go too easily, without fighting for what could still be saved. Wisdom lies in telling when to hold on and when to release.

You are a deep, understanding partner who values every moment together. You know how to support someone through the hardest times.

Let yourself trust that good things can last. Not every story has to end.

The Nine of Spades is drawn to work of service and support: medicine, palliative care, psychology, social work, spiritual practice, charity, crisis work.

Its work helps people through life's most important changes.

The Nine closes the number cards of Spades before the Ten. Its three days fall at the start of the year, the last on March 1, on the threshold of spring.
