The Sun as a Tarot Birth Card

The Personality card is about how others see you. The Sun makes a person bright and warm. People notice them and are drawn to them, and the mood lifts when they are around. They enjoy life sincerely and can pass that joy on.

Such people are open and don't like to hide. They need to be seen and appreciated, and they can be the centre of attention without effort. The Sun's lesson is to shine without blinding and to leave room for other people's light.

• Optimism. You see the good and believe in success even when others doubt.
• Vitality. You have a lot of energy and share it generously.
• Openness. You are sincere, and people find it easy to trust you.
• Success. Luck and recognition often find you on their own.

The flip side of The Sun is self-centredness. The person gets so used to being the centre that they stop noticing others and take it hard when attention goes elsewhere.

The second trap is burnout. You can't shine all the time, yet admitting tiredness feels like betraying your image. What the card teaches is that even the sun sets, and rest is part of the cycle the Wheel reminds you of.

In love you are a warm, cheerful and generous partner. Being with you is easy and joyful; you can turn an ordinary day into a celebration. You speak openly about your feelings and don't play games.

Remember to share the stage with your partner. A relationship blossoms when both people shine, not only you.

Natural fits include work where you can be seen and inspire others: the stage, entertainment, media and blogging, teaching, working with children, leadership, sales, sport, event planning, creative professions.

Recognition comes to you naturally. To make success last, rely on the skill The Magician gives you.

The Sun outside: the world sees joy, warmth and success in you. The Magician deep inside: you have the will and skill to turn plans into reality. Wheel of Fortune between them: a sense of timing and the turning points through which you come to yourself.

Together the three cards describe someone who has been given a lot: brightness, luck and the ability to act. The key is not to spend it on outward glitter but to put it into work that is truly yours.
